On Saturday, October 25th, our very own Jennie Cook (Los Angeles caterer, Rootdown LA chair, author of Who Wants Seconds? Sociable Suppers for Vegans, Omnivores & Everyone in Between) will be leading a panel discussion during Food Day at the Redondo Beach Public Library.
The screening of the film Farm-City, State (http://www.farmcitystate.com/) will be held at 2 p.m. This documentary explores the question: “What if an entire city could feed itself with healthy, sustainable, local, and organic food?” It follows farmers and consumers in Austin, Texas as it delves into the real and imagined barriers to healthy food consumption.
The screening will be followed by a panel discussion with Jennie and members of other organizations involved in the promotion or production of healthy, local, sustainable food. Come early to chat and learn about local efforts to support sustainable food production.
