Karen, her trailer, and the daughter she will not be blogging about

On July 4th, Karen Rizzo will be traveling in her book-cover-wrapped 1950s vintage trailer, kids and husband in tow, to promote Famous Baby, her debut novel about a hugely successful but neurotic mommy blogger and the teenage daughter who hates the spotlight. She’ll be stopping by indie bookstores on her way from L.A. to Mendocino and back, with a night’s visit to Palo Alto to participate in Books Inc.’s Peninsula Parlour literary salon and a final-night bash in Santa Barbara at Municipal Winemakers, with support from Chaucer’s Books.

The two in-person events are taking place on July 9 at Books Inc. in Palo Alto, where Karen will be the featured author for the monthly Peninsula Parlour Series event, and on July 14 at Municipal Winemakers in Santa Barbara (with a pop-up bookstore from Chaucer’s), in a (very) lively conversation with Jenna McCarthy, whose hilarious new book about aging has just hit the shelves, moderated by columnist and author Starshine Roshell. Details are below, and we’ll keep posting photos from the road at the bottom of this post.
